Weatherization Client Intake Representative

LOCATION: Portageville and Sikeston

Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, is growing its Weatherization Department thanks to new funding from the Department of Energy.  The Weatherization Client Intake Representative must be mission driven and customer service oriented. 

Responsibilities: This position will answer and direct phone calls, be responsible for general clerical duties, interview clients and record interview information into a computer for client services. Fills out program forms, does necessary intake assessment and referral applications in order to assess needs and provide services. Enters client information in computer using specialized software (MOWAP, Access, Excel, and state system) and future required systems. Handles complaints concerning services rendered and/or refers unresolved complaints to Supervisor. Advises Supervisor of all in-house or client complaints. Required to participate with team members in the effort of accomplishing program operations during emergency situations and peak program periods. Must communicate with other co-workers in sharing knowledge of new programs or activities that would benefit the productivity and professionalism of the office. Works to ensure cohesion and teamwork within the department. Assist with other Department work demands as needed. Must have the ability to empathize with and understand the needs of DAEOC clientele. Must have knowledge of living and working conditions in the six-county area of Southeast Missouri as they relate to DAEOC clients. Must be able to travel the six-county area occasionally and go out-of-area on a periodic basis.

Qualifications and Requirements: Associate’s degree (A. A.) in Social Services or a related field preferred but not required; with 0-3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office, and must have a Valid Missouri Driver’s License
