Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor - Sub or PRN
Location: Portageville MO Adult Education Center
We invite you to join Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, as part of our expanding adult education program. The EMS Instructor will be responsible for teaching EMT courses, preparing students to obtain a Missouri EMT license. The applicant must be mission driven and customer service oriented.
Additional Responsibilities:
Prepares EMT course materials and assignments.
Teaches EMT courses in accordance with national standards. Instruction may include skill labs, coordinating patient care scenarios, content delivery.
Demonstrates practical skills including: patient transportation, emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Remains current with State and local EMS requirements, policies, and procedures.
Serves as an instructor/facilitator in skill labs and patient care scenarios using Program established teaching, evaluation, and testing tools.
Maintains accurate documentation of student performance.
Evaluates the work of each student providing assistance and additional instruction as needed.
Interacts positively with team members and students.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Current EMT certification.
Current CPR certification.
Clean Background Check
3+ years as an EMT or Paramedic.
Valid Missouri Driver’s License

Ability to deliver educational presentations applying principles of adult learning.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with other employees, supervisors and external parties.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information gained as result of position functions.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
