POSITIONS: CENTER AIDE
Position Purpose: The Center Aide will work cooperatively, assisting the center staff with the operations of the center/classroom, doing daily bus duty and other duties as deemed necessary.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Carry out assigned duties according the Head Start Performance Standards and Program Policies and Procedures.
Assist classroom staff and be actively engaged and involved in the operations of the classroom.
Assist with any assessments and screenings as directed.
Bus duty on a daily basis (morning and afternoon).
Assure that no child is left alone.
Ensure proper voice tone is used with children, families, staff and public.
Assist in center as directed.
Assist with data entry as directed.The applicant will be responsible for assisting the teacher with the care and educational development of children ages birth-3 and engaging their families in accordance with Federal Head Start Performance Standards.
Qualifications:
CDA (Child Development Associate Certification) preferred as well as experience working with young children and low income families
Other Requirements:
Must successfully complete licensing and staff screenings as required. Individual must be warm, friendly, and able to work with children and adults. Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks without continual direction or supervision. Must be able to relate to young children in a positive manner, accepting individual differences of all children.
Applicant should have at least one year of experience in a licensed day care. Experience in working with infant/toddler is preferred. Applicant must be patient, flexible and able to relate with the children and their families. Applicant must have and provide proof of a high school diploma/GED, a driver's license valid in Missouri, transportation and insurance. Dual language is a plus.
