Department Administrative Assistant

LOCATION: Hayti Head Start

Responsible for the entry of and monitoring for quality assurance of data related to Program record-keeping and reporting systems and state subsidy/parent co-pay system for full day children, as applicable.  Responsible for processing and reconciling requisitions, invoices, and vendor statements, as applicable.  Assist all staff in providing comprehensive services to children and families.   Other duties include, but not limited to:  Program recruitment/application/enrollment processes 

  1. Entry and tracking of Program attendance, absenteeism, and meal counts processes

  2. Child and Adult Care Food Program processes

  3. Processing in-kind generated by Program

  4. Generating reports from Program software system as required by Management staff 

  5. Maintains state subsidy payment system.

  6. Communicates with families and center staff regarding status of the parent co-pay system.

  7. Assists with child applications, including the application for state subsidy.

  8. Acts as receptionist; answering phones, taking messages, directing visitors, providing general information as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.  AA degree and/or 2 years experience in general office management, data systems and bookkeeping is required.  Early childhood education/experience is also preferred.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) is favorable.


Applicant must have a driver’s license valid in Missouri, transportation and insurance. Applicant must be able to show verification of COVID-19 vaccine.
