LOCATION: Malone Park Center for Art and Music (Sikeston, MO)
DAEOC is a private, not-for-profit Community Action Agency serving counties in Southeast Missouri. DAEOC administers programs designed to combat poverty and provide economic opportunities.
DAEOC is seeking an individual interested in launching and overseeing this start-up project that will elevate the art scene in SEMO.
Malone Park Academy of the Arts and will offer individual and family-oriented activities along with age-appropriate educational and recreational growth opportunities to residents of our six-county area. Programming will include: music education, production and recording; photography and visual arts instruction, workshops and exhibits; dance, drama, and performing arts classes and productions; academic tutoring; stability and strengthening classes such as Yoga and Pilates; community service learning opportunities and youth-focused after school, weekend and summer activities. Local and nationally known guest speakers, artists, musicians, and performers will be invited to visit the center, share life experiences, perform, conduct demonstrations, and host workshops.
SUMMARY
The Malone Park Center for Art & Music Lead will be two-fold: 1) managing specific grant requirements and compliance with the primary focus will include submitting reports, financial statements and complying with the grant requirements, as written; and 2) oversees and directs the planning, organizing, and implementation of the Malone Park Center for Music & Art
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Creates and maintains a grant calendar of deadlines.
Works closely with the Fiscal Department to track funding received to assist in grant management and monitoring.
Works collaboratively with DAEOC leadership and program staff to facilitate the grants process and best represent DAEOC to the community and funders – which include a mix of federal, state and local funding as well as private funding sources and foundations.
Participate in the hiring of instructors for all art/music/dance programs. Provide initial training, supervise and evaluate instructors.
Create and maintain class schedules.
Maintain facilities and workspaces.
Provide registration and orientation activities for students.
Plan and participate in recruitment activities for students, volunteers and potential donors.
Participate in the program development process, strategic planning activities, and evaluation activities.
Generate and maintain records, reports, and statistics, analyzing data as part of program review and for data-driven decision making.
Maintain linkages with agencies, organizations, businesses and programs that share common interests.
Assist with the planning and design of informational strategies and promotional activities for public relations campaigns, programs, and events.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility. (Possibly a program assistant)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Communications, Business, Marketing, related degree or equivalent from an accredited institution; and 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education and experience in music and/or art preferred but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a current drivers license (Class "E") valid in the state of Missouri as well as access to a vehicle and proper insurance coverage.
